WHAT HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED:

JMEC has been structural consultant for the conceptual design of the San Francisco Airport Runway Expansion.  Work performed include:
  • Evaluated feasibility of using precast prestressed concrete deck
  • Evaluated feasibility of using 36", 42" and 48" steel pipe piles
  • Reviewed and develop design criteria for structural design of offshore runway
  • Performed pushover analysis for pile design
  • Performed three dimensional FEM analyses for live load (FNLA), temperature, seismic and expansion movement
  • Designed precast prestressed concrete deck
  • Attended meetings with Airfield Development Bureau
  • Attended peer review meetings with the Blue Ribbon Review Panel
  • Prepared schedule for final design.
